1. The past is in the past, focus on the future. 2. Opinions do not define reality. 3. Everyone’s journey is different. 4. Time is the essence of healing. 5. Judgement is a confession of character. 6. Overthinking will lead to paralysis/sadness. 7. Happiness is an inside job, found within. 8. Positive thoughts, create positive actions. 9. Smiles are contagious. 10. Sprinkle kindness, it’s free. 11. You only fail if you quit/do not try. 12. What goes around, comes around. Karma it is. 13. The quicker you choose to move forward, the quicker the suffering ends.
Life is rarely ever predictable. The truth is: we were never guaranteed that we would have the answers for everything or feel certainty in every situation.
That’s part of this journey’s adventure to get from where we are to where we want to be, we are required to trust, hope, and believe, and dare to blaze the trail even when the path in front of us looks near impossible.
The secret to life isn’t about knowing the future or having the perfect roadmap, but rather having faith for the future and the spirit of a pioneer.
IT’S OKAY NOT TO KNOW HOW THINGS ARE GOING TO TURN OUT.
The real glow up isn’t proving the people from your past wrong. It is finally feeling so content and hopeful about your future that you stop thinking about them entirely. When you want to change your life in order for it to look different, and only that, you are still orbiting around the opinions of people who didn’t love you, and didn’t have any intention to.
A real glow up is authentic. It is lifting off all the cover-up bullshit and addressing the real problems. It is healing. It is changing, for good. It is, for the first time, prioritizing your heart over someone else’s eyes. The real glow up is realizing that you have nobody to prove wrong but yourself. (Not my words.)
DON’T COMPARE YOUR actual self to a hypothetical self. Don’t drown in a sea of ‘what if’s. Don’t clutter your mind by imagining other versions of you, in parallel universes, where you made different decisions. The internet age encourages choice and comparison, but don’t do this to yourself. Theodore Roosevelt said; “Comparison is the thief of joy”.
You are you. The past is the past. The only way to make a better life is from inside the present. To focus on regret does nothing but turn that very present into another thing you will wish you did differently.
Accept your own reality. Be human enough to make mistakes. Be human enough not to dread the future. Be human enough to be, well, enough. Accepting where you are in life makes it so much easier to be happy for other people without feeling terrible about yourself. BE YOU.
It’s so easy to beat ourselves up for mistakes we’ve made in the past. Mistakes are part of being human and they are part of being alive. Our mistakes are blessings and opportunities to keep learning and expanding. But even when you learn from your mistakes don’t expect to never make another. You will and that’s okay.
Keep growing and embrace each challenge as a chance to learn something new and you will be amazed by how easy it is to move on. Mistakes are nothing more than opportunities to learn, grow, and better our future.
This is your life. You have everything you need inside you to live the life you have always dreamed of. Take all that you have learned and experienced and create your own reality. The beautiful part about life is that if you don’t like where you are, there’s always a new moment and a new day to start again.
Make smart, educated decisions. Encourage yourself to make the choices today for the future you want tomorrow. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. (Not my words.)
How many times have we done something “wrong” and then regretted it later? As long as we learn something from it, the experience is not wasted. We aren’t perfect. We are here to learn from our mistakes and imperfections, not beat ourselves up for them.
Think about how to alter your regrets into lessons for the future. Nobody is perfect. As long as we continue to strive to be better, our imperfections are part of our journey.
